I get so many questions on LED light therapy. What is it? How does it work? And does it actually really work? Let’s break it down.
LED stands for light emitting diodes. This light therapy technology uses the application of light energy to the body for a variety of therapeutic benefits; mild to moderate acne, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, wrinkles and minor aches and pains. This is why it is one of my favorite tools in my ‘skincare tool bag’ in the treatment room. This technology can treat a variety of skin concerns for nearly every person.
One of my favorite things about LED light therapy is that it is F.D.A. tested and approved. It’s also backed by this little group you may have heard of....N.A.S.A. The space station actually used light therapy to grow food from space for astronauts. From there N.A.S.A discovered many other benefits this technology could provide.
But is it actually working since you can’t feel anything? YES! The LED lights are working directly with the cells in your skin to help repair aged cells that once produced collagen and elastin. Feel free to nap away during this treatment and let the device do all the work!
LED light therapy is a must when it comes to your skincare routine and is a game changer for nearly all skin types!
